1 or I - Research

COLOR NAME: Research
COLOR CODES: 1 or I
LURE(S) PICTURED: Cousin II (7735-1)
DESCRIPTION: This code was used for a number of purposes by Heddon and can be found on boxes beginning in the 1960's. Lures that came in boxes so marked were handed out to field testers for 'research' purposes and were given to Heddon salemen to hand out as samples or for promotional purposes. Lures that came in these boxes could be any color including 'new' colors for testing purposes though most are regular cataloged colors. In many cases, lures in these boxes were 'seconds' in that they had some factory flaw, usually in the paint. Such boxes are fairly common and in general hold no special value.
