DESCRIPTION:
Commonly referred to as Strawberry, this color was first known as "White body, red & green spots". The Heddon catalogs listed several different names over the years including "Spotted" and "White, Red & Green Spots" to name but two. There are numerous variations for this color as spots vary in color and size. Lures have a white body with varying shades and sizes of yellow, green and red spots and occasionally black or very dark green. Some spot colors may be missing. The River Runt Spooks have a silver scale pattern on the belly. The 'white' on wood lures often appears yellow but this is due to aging of the varnish and/or color.

The Floater model pictured on the right was made for the Japanese market in the late 1990's and early 2000's and marketed by Mamiya-Op, a Japanese tackle distributor. These late production models are easily identified by the belly marking which lacks the model name that appear on earlier River Runts, i.e., the word 'Floater' is missing. Note the solid white belly as well which is different from the earlier Spotted color which had a scale pattern on the belly.

The related color code, SUS-SP is identical in pattern but the finish is matted or 'flat' finish or what is sometimes called a 'fur finish' though it isn't really furry. The Crazy Crawler is a recent special order production for the Japanese market, c. 2005.
