Y - Yellow Shiner or Yellow

The color code "Y" (Yellow) has a lot of variations depending on the model of the lure.

Tiger: Yellow body with silver flash sides. Cataloged Heddon color for this lure in the late 1960's. Dying Quiver: Yellow nose & tail, yellow coachdog markings on top & sides, clear body with silver reflector insert (1958-1964). Big Tiger: Yellow body with silver flash sides and silver glitter on the sides. This was referred to as a 'saltwater' color and was cataloged for the Big Tiger starting in 1968. The Flaptail Bug, a Heddon fly rod lure, has a solid yellow body with yellow feathers and red wrappings, red eyes with black iris. c. 1940's. The Ultra Sonic dates to 1964 when a series of such colors came out called "Vibra Flash" for the Sonic line. Interestingly, in 1969, Heddon used that same name (Vibra Flash) in a Sonic color line but instead of a flash insert, put glitter on the sides.

King Cobra: Yellow body with silver glitter or silver flitter on sides; c. 1965; cataloged color.

Super Sonic: Yellow scale pattern on side with light red markings and black lightning bolt mark on either side. This pattern was used on the Sonic from 1957 thru 1970.

Sonic: Solid yellow body with black lightning bolt mark on either side. This pattern was used starting in 1957 and continued to 1992 when the Sonic line of lures ceased production. The Super Sonic came in this color after 1970.
